Pink against green
the two colours of a Rasa gift, and why they never touch

Every Rasa piece is photographed on the same stone, against the same emerald silk. The box it arrives in is rani pink. The ribbon is rani pink. The seal is rani pink. Nothing else is.
Green is the colour of the scene — silk, shadow, the room the pieces are chosen in. Pink is the colour of the moment: the box opening, the ribbon coming off, the one thing in the room you came for. One is the background to a life; the other is an occasion.
They belong together the way a lehenga and its dupatta do, which is why we never let them sit flat against each other. There is always something between — cream, gold, a photograph, a hand.
